The new ownership includes members of the original Latrobe Vets team, bringing together different professional backgrounds, hands-on veterinary experience, leadership, clinical knowledge and a shared commitment to strengthening veterinary care across the Latrobe Valley. This is not a complete change of direction. It is a fresh start built on familiar faces, trusted relationships and more than 35 years of caring for local pets.
ABOUT LATROBE VETS
A FRESH NEW CHAPTER FOR A TRUSTED LOCAL VETERINARY TEAM

Latrobe Vets is entering an exciting new chapter as an independently owned veterinary practice, led by people who already know the clinic, the team, the pets and the local community.
Clients will notice a refreshed look and renewed energy, but the heart of the practice remains the same: thoughtful care, strong clinical standards and a team genuinely invested in the people and pets they look after.

INDEPENDENTLY OWNED AND LOCALLY COMMITTED
Being independently owned means we can make decisions with our patients, clients, team and community at the centre.
Many of the people helping shape the future of Latrobe Vets already live and work in the area. This is their community too.
Our goal is to provide veterinary care that feels personal, capable and connected, while continuing to raise the standard of what can be offered locally.
Where possible, we want to investigate thoroughly, identify problems early and take your pet’s care as far as we responsibly can before referral is needed.

HIGH STANDARDS, BACKED BY EXPERIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Our purpose-built hospital gives our team access to extensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including ultrasound, digital X-ray, in-house blood testing, blood gas analysis, oxygen support and dedicated treatment areas.
But the equipment is only part of the story.
What matters just as much is how we use it.
Our team pays close attention to the details, from careful anaesthetic monitoring and pain management to recognising subtle signs that a patient may be more unwell than they first appear.
A simple question guides much of our care:What would we want if this were our own pet?
A TEAM THAT KEEPS LEARNING
One of the great strengths of Latrobe Vets is the depth of experience across our vets and nurses.
Our team brings additional knowledge in areas including emergency and critical care, dentistry, avian medicine and animal behaviour, and we place a strong emphasis on continuing education and sharing knowledge across the whole practice.
We believe the experience of one person should strengthen the care provided by everyone.
And when a pet needs specialist care beyond what we can provide, we will say so and help guide you through the next step.
GENTLE, THOUGHTFUL CARE

We know some pets find vet visits stressful. Our team uses gentle, low-stress handling techniques to help pets feel safer and more settled.
This includes thoughtful handling, calming pheromones, treats and practical adjustments to suit each pet.
We are also working towards further improvements to make visits more comfortable for cats, dogs and nervous patients, including a safe outdoor consulting space where appropriate.
Good veterinary care is not only about diagnosing and treating illness. How your pet experiences that care matters too.
